Eric W Classey, J.P., F.R.E.S.     ::     1916 - 2008

Eric William Classey sat back in his chair and ruminated about the previous 92 years of life, from modest beginnings in Paddington, London, through setting up a world-reknowned specialist bookselling and publishing company, being presented to HM Queen Elizabeth II, and recognition as a leading authority on British butterflies and moths.  But with a twinkle of the eye, he reassures his friends "In the words of Spike Milligan: I'm not afraid of dying, I just don't want to be there when it happens!"

"One of Nature's gentlemen..."
