I had known Eric for nearly 50 years, first as a bookseller and then as a good friend of myself and in more recent times my wife as well.  I visited him on many occasions starting int he days when he was at Hampton through to Bampton.  My two daughters still remember the stories he told and the games he entertained them with whilst waiting for me to come home from work one day some 25 years ago!  He will be greatly missed by all.
